Spreadsheet Solution

Newton Raphson isn't the only iterative method we could have used to calculate square roots. However we decided to use this method because it opened up to us the possibility of using our actionscript to solve other types of equation at a later date.

As with the simultaneous equations spreadsheet, if you have Microsoft Office 2000 installed, you will see an interactive example of a spreadsheet used to perform these calculations.
